What
is the difference between LUNIX hosting and Windows hosting?
|
|
They
are 2 different Operating systems installed on the webserver.
Both the OS support different technologies. So depending
on what your application is, we give you this option.
Pages designed in software's like ASP, MS Access, or
VBScript, are executed better on a Windows based hosting
server. Furthermore, if you are comfortable with IIS
and do not have the time to understand how UNIX works,
Windows hosting would again be a better choice.
Linux
is much more common with web hosts due to its superior
stability and because it is free. Since it is free,
Linux hosting is usually cheaper than Windows. Just
because it's free does not mean it's not as good - Linux
is an excellent product too. |

|
|
Why
would I need a dedicated IP? |
|
Only for people who want to provide a anonymous FTP or
use design application using SSL, need a dedicated IP,
as configuration becomes easier. In most of the cases
it is not needed. |
|
|
|
Why
don't I just go with the cheapest hosting? |
|
Advertisement
of companies providing cheap hosting and amazing features
are too good to be true. They also commit performance
and good services, but the drawback of this offers lies
in the terms of service (TOS) and acceptable use policy
(AUP) documents. Most of the server providers try to
limit the activity of the customer through these two.
Either the bandwidth or space offering is restricted.
Just
because a host is cheap does not mean that you will
receive 'cheap' service, but you must be careful. |
